Food safety training offered March 3

A certified food protection manager training will be offered March 3 in Palmer and by videoconference in Fairbanks, Juneau, Sitka and other Southeast communities.

Additional locations include Klukwan, Angoon, Tenakee Springs and Petersburg. The food safety workshop, which is hosted by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service, will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. State regulations require that all food establishments have at least one certified food protection manager to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

Register by Feb. 17 at http://bit.ly/ces-workshops to receive class materials. The $200 fee includes one certification exam. Palmer Extension agent Julie Cascio will teach the class at Room 208 of Kerttula Hall at the Matanuska Experiment Farm near Palmer.
