Glen Holt will provide a workshop on forestry for biomass energy in the Interior at 7 p.m. March 31 in the Noel Wien Library Auditorium.
Communities in Interior Alaska continue to increase their use of woody biomass for heating and electrical cogeneration. Holt, the eastern Alaska forester for the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service, will talk about sustainable forestry methods, biomass timber harvesting and basic boreal forest ecology.
