College of Liberal Arts to host inaugural showcase event

The University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Liberal Arts will host a new showcase event, "We are CLA," Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Great Hall on the UAF campus. The event will highlight the disciplines, research, faculty and student activities in the College of Liberal Arts. The event will include:
- A demonstration of pottery and painting techniques with the art department
- Displays of archaeological tools, bone and dental casts from the anthropology department
- An exploration of the human brain with the psychology department
- Selections from theater and film productions
- Performances by music department ensembles Ensemble 64.8, World Beat Ensemble, the Aurelia String Quartet, the UAF Brass Choir and Borealis Brass
- "Innocent Eye," an exhibit featuring photographs of Africa.
Refreshments will be served and children are welcome. The event is free and open to the public.
