The UAF School of Education is collaborating with the Autism Society of Alaska to raise awareness and bust disability barriers. A free viewing of the documentary Wretches and Jabberers will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, in the Schaible Auditorium. Oscar winner and twice Academy Award-nominated filmmaker, Gerardine Wurzburg, created this inspiring film that chronicles the world travels of disability rights advocates Tracy Thresher and Larry Bissonnette in a bold quest to change attitudes about the intelligence and abilities of people with autism.

The entire community is invited to attend the film, which will provoke viewers to examine barriers to communication worldwide. School of Education representatives will be at the viewing to demonstrate communication devices and applications.
