Firewood workshop at UAF

A free workshop on heating safely with wood will take place on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Schaible Auditorium.
The workshop will include information on wood stove maintenance, smoke, the properties of different firewood, chainsaw safety and maintenance, and how and where to get firewood. A fundraiser chili and cornbread lunch will also be available.
The UAF Cooperative Extension Service and the Yukon River Chapter of the Society of American Foresters are hosting the workshop.
