Conversation Café will discuss gender bias in hiring, promotion and tenure

The Committee on the Status of Women will host a Conversation Café in two sessions
to discuss gender bias in hiring, promotion and tenure.
The conversations will be held from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in 103/105 Murie Building
and 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at The Pub in Wood Center.
The groups will consider questions such as:
- What does the research say?
- What actions can you take as an administrator or reviewer?
- What should you consider in preparing your file?
- How can you help a colleague?
Please join the discussion to share background, current research, and personal experiences. Discuss actions and advice for everyone involved in these processes. Synthesize key ideas into a few “summary sheets.”
The Committee on the Status of Women is a permanent committee of the UAF Faculty Senate.
