Scientist describes people-powered conservation

Alistair Bath of Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, will present a seminar titled "Working With People to Achieve Conservation" from 3–4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, in the Murie Building auditorium.


Bath's presentation is part of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Institute of Arctic Biology’s Life Science Hour seminar series.


Bath will discuss a national brown bear management plan in Bulgaria, a wolf management plan in Croatia, an urban biodiversity deal with Israelis and Palestinian authorities, and his small role in Kenya with the lion guardians project.


The UAF Institute of Arctic Biology hosts a weekly Life Science Hour seminar series most Fridays during the academic year. All seminars are free and open to the public.
