The financial literacy workshops will be offered from 2 to 5 p.m. May 28 at the Boys and Girls Club in the Fairbanks City Hall building and from 3 to 5 p.m. June 2 at the North Pole Fire Department annex.

Participants learn how to start, own and operate their own business: a lemonade stand. They keep the proceeds from their sales but are encouraged to “spend a little, save a little and share a little with their community.” The workshops will be taught by staff from Wells Fargo and the 4-H Military Program, the Ben Eielson High School DECA Club teens and members of the Interior Entrepreneur Lions Club. Sign up for the workshops at http://bit.ly/fbkslmnd.

Youths may sign up for the fifth annual Lemonade Day at www.alaska.lemonadeday.org and pick up a backpack with a workbook at any Wells Fargo branch. Adults may also participate by buying a frosty glass of lemonade from a budding entrepreneur. For more information, contact 4-H agent Candi Dierenfield at 474-1909.
