Museum offers Native graves repatriation workshop

The University of Alaska Museum of the North is coordinating a community workshop and discussion about the federal Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center in downtown Fairbanks.

This informal presentation features several panelists from the museum as well as NAGPRA expert Claudia Nissley. Josh Reuther, the museum’s curator of archaeology, will facilitate.

There will be a chance to ask questions about the law and how the process works.
