The University of Alaska Museum of the North is exploring moose at hands-on programs during the month of February. At Family Day: Moose on Saturday, Feb. 11, from noon to 4 p.m., visitors can talk with experts and explore the role of moose in Alaskan cultures. There is no admission fee for children 14 and under at Family Days, thanks to support from TOTE Maritime.

Families are invited to drop in with children age 5 and under at Early Explorers each Friday from 10 a.m.-noon. Junior Curators, for kids 6 and up, meets Saturday, Feb. 4, from 2-4 p.m. A newer program, Teen Studio on Saturday, Feb. 25, offers an opportunity for young adults ages 13-18 to investigate moose biology.

The museum will also offer a Moose Fun program at the Noel Wien Library on Sunday, Feb. 26, from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
