Notecards made from 10 color plates of Alaska birds portrayed in a rare book at the Alaska and Polar Regions Collections and Archives are newly available on the Alaska History Store website.

The cards come from plates by artists Robert and John Ridgway in Edward Nelson's "Report upon natural history collections made in Alaska between the years 1877 and 1881." The report is Alaska Rare Book A1768 in the archives.

The cards can be purchased individually for $3. All 10 are available in an elegant white box with a clear cover for $31. Both make great gifts. See http://www.alaskahistorystore.org/birds.html. They can also be purchased from Digital Photographic Services, Room 334, in the Rasmuson Library.

Purchases support the archives' photographic preservation and access work.
