The 2002 AAAS 53rd Arctic Science Conference, "Connectivity in Northern Waters - Chukchi Sea, Bering Sea, and Gulf of Alaska Interrelationships" will take place September 18 -21, in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The conference will focus on connectivities and interrelationships between northern ecosystems and interactions at their boundaries. The plenary session will focus on interdisciplinary analysis of the numerous connectivities that ultimately lead to improved regional and large-scale assessments of ecosystem stability and critical processes responsible for environmental change. Technical sessions will focus on scientific, socio-economic and policy issues in northern regions.
