The University of Alaska Fairbanks carillon will chime 40 times beginning at 9:15 a.m. Friday, June 11 to join churches, bell ringers and citizens throughout the United States in remembrance of Ronald Reagan, 40th president of the United States. The timing was selected to coincide with the end of the memorial services at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

UAF will be open for business on Friday, with offices open and classes continuing as usual. A full schedule of events in Washington to commemorate the death of former President Reagan can be found at www.whitehouse.gov/reagan/.
