Scientist to speak about volcanic ash clouds

University of Alaska Fairbanks postdoctoral fellow Peter Webley will speak about techniques for detecting volcanic ash clouds and give a demonstration of how he uses Google Earth in his research during a free public lecture Wednesday, July 1 at 7 p.m. at Schaible Auditorium on the UAF campus.
His lecture is part of the Discovering Alaska lecture series. The series is sponsored by UAF Summer Sessions and offers free public lectures with Alaska artists, authors, historians and scientists.
