We begin our countdown to the top moment of the past year with No. 10. Back on Jan. 6, 2013, skier Logan Hanneman accomplished two amazing feats when he captured the 10-kilometer class mass start junior race at the United States Cross Country Championships in Midway, Utah.

Hanneman, who bested the field of more than 120 competitors, secured a spot on the U.S. Junior Ski Team roster for the World Junior Championships, held in Liberec, Czech Republic. In the collegiate realm, the sophomore also punched his ticket to the 2013 NCAA Championship in Vermont.

The combination of his win in the 10K classic and a seventh-place finish in the 15K skate the day before pushed the Fairbanks native through to his second national appearance in as many years.

The next step was for him to leave the Nanooks and prepare for the World Juniors, which he competed in on Jan. 21-27, racing in three separate events. During his week in the Czech Republic, Hanneman took 16th in the classic sprint final after placing 10th in the qualification race. Later in the week, he was 39th in the 10-by-10 skiathlon (10K classic & 10K free skate) followed up by a 12th-place showing in the 5K relay.

After rejoining the Nanooks later in the season, Hanneman would go on to help the Nanooks take 14th as a team at the NCAA Championship by placing 17th in the 10K classic and 25th in the 20K mass start freestyle.

Tomorrow, we'll reveal our No. 9 moment of the 2012-13 season – STAY TUNED!
