Continuing our countdown to the top moment from the past year, we now take a look at our No. 7 moment of 2012-13. In a high-scoring match-up in South Bend, Ind., Alaska and fourth-ranked Notre Dame were deadlocked at 4-4 as the seconds ticked away toward overtime but a Jarret Granberg goal with only three seconds remaining lifted the Nanooks to a 5-4 upset victory against the Irish.

Notre Dame controlled the puck in the defensive zone but turned it over to Alaska with only eight seconds left. Freshman Tyler Morley fired the puck on net but it was stopped by UND netminder Steven Summerhays. Senior Nik Yaremchuk followed up by receiving the puck off the rebound but his shot on the open net ricocheted off the pipe. Granberg flew in from the left circle after the miss and he was able to put his stick on the puck and tap it home for the game winner.

Following the victory, head coach Dallas Ferguson had this to say about the win," Scoring with three seconds left to get three points rather than going to overtime and a shootout was exciting. It was good hustle that forward line going to the front of the net and banging in the rebound. I'm happy the guys battled and plugged away and got rewarded tonight."

That win marked the third in a row at the time as the Nanooks would begin the 2013 calendar year with six straight victories. The following night, Alaska would complete the two-week, four-game road trip with a 4-0 record.

Tomorrow, we'll reveal our No. 6 moment of the 2012-13 season – STAY TUNED!
