Personal vehicles on lower campus

Question

Will there be better signage so personal vehicles do not drive through lower campus? I have seen cars driving through the area between Wood Center, Gruening, Constitution Hall and beside the Rasmuson Library. Sometimes they are driving quite fast and seem surprised to see pedestrians using the walkways.

Response

The goal is to have no vehicles within the core area, unless scheduled and for short time periods. Even the maintenance vehicles will be held to this standard. Now that the new pedestrian area is being installed west of the Gruening Building, there will be breakaway and lockable bollards installed. Expect these to be installed at the other core access points in the future. Until such time, we will do our best to sign off the area.
