Powers to give 2015 State of the University address

University of Alaska Fairbanks Chancellor Mike Powers will give the annual State of
the University address Thursday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m. in the Charles W. Davis Concert
Hall on the Fairbanks campus.
Powers will speak about his goals for the next 10 months as interim chancellor, including
guiding UAF through another challenging budget year. He will touch on the university's
work to implement Title IX requirements, the importance of funding the final phase
of construction on the new UAF engineering building, the need to continue building
UAF's reputation as a leader in Arctic research and the university's centennial fundraising
initiatives.
University of Alaska President Jim Johnsen will also speak briefly at the event.
Students, staff and faculty members, alumni and members of the public are invited
