Justice Sonia Sotomayor to speak at UAF

U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor will speak in Fairbanks, Sunday, Aug. 14, at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The free public event, “A Conversation with Justice Sonia Sotomayor,” will take place at 4 p.m. in the Charles Davis Concert Hall.

Sotomayor was appointed to the Supreme Court in August of 2009 and is the first Hispanic U.S. Supreme Court justice. She is also the author of a bestselling memoir, "My Beloved World," which received critical praise when it was published in 2013.

The event is sponsored by UAF Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning. Members of the public interested in submitting questions to Sotomayor in advance of the event will be able to do so by visiting www.uaf.edu/summer.
