With five of six shows sold out and due to overwhelming demand, Theatre UAF has added two performances of "Nickel and Dimed" this Friday, Nov. 8 and Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Salisbury Theater in the UAF Fine Arts Complex.

Based on the bestselling book of the same name by Barbara Ehrenreich, the play follows a middle-aged, middle-class woman as she leaves behind a comfortable life to attempt to survive on minimum wage. Balancing vivid, witty comedy with sobering views of the reality many in our nation face each day, the cast bring colorful and compelling characters forward to share their stories and struggles.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.theatreuaf.org, $14 for general admission, $11 for seniors, military and UAF faculty and staff, and $7 for all students. An additional $2 is added to the price of each ticket when purchased at the door.

"Nickel and Dimed" is sponsored in part by the Fairbanks Central Labor Council, which proudly supports an increase in the minimum wage.
