Freshman center Tyler Morley (Burnaby, B.C./General Studies) was named to the Central Collegiate Hockey Association All-Rookie Team as announced Monday by the Michigan-based league. Two of his classmates, defenseman Colton Parayko (St. Albert, AB/Business Administration) and goalie John Keeney (Twin Peaks, Calif./Business Administration) also garnered honorable mention to this year's all-rookie squad.

Joining Morley on the all-rookie team selections were Miami forward Riley Barber, defenseman Matthew Caito and goaltender Ryan McKay, as well as Notre Dame forward Mario Lucia, Michigan defenseman Jacob Trouba and Western Michigan defenseman Kenney Morrison.

Morley finished the regular season with eight goals and 15 points and was the CCHA Gongshow Rookie of the Week once during the 2012-13 season. He finished third in scoring for Alaska, led all CCHA rookies in short-handed goals with two and scored three game-winning goals, tying him with Barber for the most among CCHA freshmen.

He is the fifth player in progam history to garner a spot on the league's all-rookie team, joining Andy Taranto (a 2010 selection), Tyler Eckford (2006), Wylie Rogers (2005) and Aaron Voros (2002).

Parayko, Alaska's lone NHL draft pick, played in all but four games this season (a span in which the team went 0-3-1). He was fourth among the CCHA's rookie defenders with three goals and 11 points and 13th nationally. He also had the second most shots on goal per game for all Division I rookie blueliners.

Keeney was the Nanooks top goalie for the majority of the season, playing in all but seven games on the year. He finished the season with a 13-11-3 mark, a 2.33 goals against and a .909 save percentage: 14th best for Division I rookies and fourth among the CCHA's freshman netminders. He was the CCHA Goaltender of the Week on Nov. 12 and backstopped Alaska to their historic and perfect 6-0 record in January, which include a 4-0 road sweep of their annual two-week road trip. He was rewarded with the CCHA Rookie of the Month honor and the Hockey Commisioner's Association National Rookie of the Month award as well.
