UAF will host Emerging Scholars Academy

UAF's Student Support Services will host the Emerging Scholars Academy, an intensive academic orientation program, from Aug. 17-28, 2015.
The academy is primarily for local freshmen who are seeking a bachelor's degree and
are eligible for SSS services, meaning they have low incomes, are first-generation
college enrollees or have documented disabilities.
Those who complete the academy can get free credit for two core classes — a savings
of more than $1,000.
This is program's second year. This year's academy has expanded to include a component
to ensure proper math placement.
