University researchers to conduct controlled burn

University of Alaska Fairbanks researchers will be conducting a controlled burn Thursday, March 26, starting at 2:30 p.m. at the University Fire Department station on University Avenue.
The burn is part of a study on oil spill cleanup techniques in the Arctic. People in the area may notice a small plume of dark smoke during the experiment, which will take about an hour.
