The Art Department will host the 14th annual Summer Visual Art Academy June 4-15 for students from grades 6 to 12.

A faculty of professional visual artists will teach classes in animation, cartooning, ceramics, computer art, fashion design, photography, drawing and design, metalsmithing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and 3D design.

Full-day academy students choose four classes, and half-day students choose two classes to participate in. The 105-minute classes meet Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

This two-week intensive visual arts program teaches innovative aspects and techniques, promotes a love and appreciation for the arts as a whole, and supplies time and materials to allow each student to produce artwork of their own.

Student creations will be on display during an exhibition from 4-6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14,  in the art gallery located in the Fine Arts Complex.
