The University of Alaska Fairbanks will celebrate a major marker in its 100-year history Monday, July 6 when it rededicates the original cornerstone for the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines.
UAF will again participate in the Kinross Fort Knox Mine Grande Parade, one of the main events held during Golden Days. The parade will start at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 25 at the Carlson Center. After six weeks of challenging academics, community service and hands-on learning, 59 rural and Alaska Native high school students will be commended during the Rural Alaska Honors Institute graduation ceremony at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 9. The ceremony will be in the Reichardt Building auditorium, Room 201, at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
I recognize that the university has a dining contractor and an associated exclusive vendor contract. It doesn’t seem to me that the contractor would lose much if food trucks were allowed on campus because the dining contractor is not doing much business here in the summer anyway.
