BLaST, One Health seminar on federally qualified health centers

The One Health seminar speaker series, sponsored by the BLaST, the Biomedical Student Learning and Training program, and the Center for One Health Research, will host their first March seminar on Monday, March 8, from 4-5 p.m. All students, staff and faculty are welcome to attend this virtual event.

Cheryl Kilgore will speak on “The Role of a Federally Qualified Health Center in a Community System of Care.” She is the executive director of the Interior Community Health Center, in Fairbanks. Kilgore earned her B.A. in biological sciences and her M.A. in community psychology from UAF. She is a member of many organizations, including the Alaska Primary Care Association and Arctic Alliance for People. She also serves on the Executive and Professional Affairs committees.

The speaker series is open to all undergraduates, faculty and staff at UAF and UAS, and partner campuses at Ilisagvik College, Alaska Pacific University, Dine College, Salish Kootenai College, and Fort Lewis College.
