Campus wood floor recoating project to begin in July

UAF Facilities Services has set the recoating schedule for wooden floors at the Davis
Concert Hall stage, the Patty Center gym and racquetball courts, the Student Recreation
Center dance floor, and the Wood Center ballroom.
The recoating process will take 10 days for each floor, with three days to prepare
the floors and give two coats of finish, followed by seven days to cure. The floors
are high-traffic areas, and the refinishing is done annually to protect and preserve
the wood for maximum floor life.
The floors will not be useable during the times in the following schedule:
- RESCHEDULED: — June 17-26: Davis Concert Hall. Return to use June 27.
- Aug. 1-13: Patty Gym and racquetball courts. Return to use Aug. 14.
- Aug. 4, 2 p.m. to Aug. 18: SRC dance floor. Return to use Aug. 19.
- August 6-18: Wood Center ballroom. Return to use Aug. 19.
