Chancellor Dana Thomas invites you to an event May 3 on the Fairbanks campus to celebrate UAF’s centennial, recall our rich history and welcome the next 100 years.

In April 1917, the Alaska Territorial Legislature passed a bill to create the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines. On May 3, 1917, Territorial Gov. John Strong signed the bill, establishing the college as an institution committed to public service, teaching and research.

On May 3, 2017, a gathering will commemorate the signing from 1-2:30 p.m. in Centennial Square, located between Wickersham Hall and the Gruening Building.

Please join us for cake to honor UAF’s past, present and future as we re-enact the signing of the law that created the college in 1917.

RSVP by April 27 and find an event map online.
