Clarity around campus access

Dear UAF campus community,

Last Saturday, March 28, the chancellor sent out a campuswide message around the new health mandates from Governor Dunleavy. This was followed up with additional messaging on Sunday, March 29, containing guidance around letters that would be distributed to those with authorized exceptions for in-person work. As of Wednesday, April 1, those notifications started to go out from supervisors at UAF. Anyone required to conduct on-campus work in its entirety or to work reduced hours on-campus should have received a letter. If your supervisor has indicated that your work falls under one of the exemptions provided to UA for on-campus work and you do not have a letter yet, please consult with your supervisor.

Employees not required to conduct work on campus should continue to work with their supervisors on whether their work can be done remotely and, if so, what needs they may have for that work, e.g., changes to workload or hours worked, supplies and campus access.

All buildings remain locked on campus but are accessible by employees via card swipe or key entry. Employees should only be in a facility if they are picking up items to conduct work remotely or if they are required to work on campus and have an exemption.
