Customer service training offered in Fairbanks

Four customer service workshops for employees of the hospitality and visitor services industry will be offered in Fairbanks during April.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service and the Alaska Division of Economic Development will co-sponsor AlaskaHost classes on customer service essentials, telephone customer service and serving customers with disabilities. A fourth training, Alaska in Your Backyard, describes local sights and history.

Each class wlll be offered twice. The four-hour Customer Service Essentials class will be taught at 1 p.m. April 5 and 8 a.m. April 7. The rest of the trainings last an hour. Telephone Customer Service will be presented at 1 p.m. April 17 and April 24; and Serving Customers with Disabilities, at 3 p.m. April 17 and April 27. Alaska in Your Backyard will be offered at 3 p.m. April 24 and 1 p.m. April 27. All workshops will take place at Extension's Fairbanks district office at 724 27th Avenue.

The AlaskaHost program was developed by the state to train participants on how to provide good customer service for residents and visitors to Alaska.
