Fisheries and ocean science experts

Robert Rember

Robert Rember
Research assistant professor

Robert Rember is an expert in marine and environmental chemistry, Arctic and subarctic oceanography, and biogeochemistry of trace metals. His studies include understanding how different physical, chemical and biological processes regulate trace metal speciation and distribution in the open ocean and coastal regions, and how these in turn affect the ecosystem. These studies include snow, sea ice, seawater, suspended sediment, marine sediments and marine aerosols.

Kristin O’Brien

Kristin O’Brien
Associate professor of biology

Fish physiology and biochemistry, mitochondrial biology, metabolic remodeling in fishes at cold temperature and adaptations of Antarctic fishes to cold temperature. Kristin’s research is aimed at understanding how fish maintain energy production at cold temperatures. One area of Kristin’s research focuses on understanding how mitochondrial function and density changes in response to seasonal changes in … Continue reading Kristin O’Brien
