Extension to offer energy and home workshops

The Cooperative Extension Service will offer free workshops in Anchorage Nov. 19-20 on a variety of energy and home topics.

On Nov. 19, sessions cover water testing at 6 p.m., home energy efficiency at 6:30 p.m., and detecting and mitigating radon and carbon monoxide in the home at 7:30 p.m. On Nov. 20, the topics will include attached greenhouses at 5:30 p.m., wood sheds at 6:30 p.m. and root cellars at 7:30 p.m.  The workshops will meet in Room 102 of the Atwood Conference Center, 550 West Seventh Ave.

Energy specialist Art Nash and Bethel agent Leif Albertson, of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service, will lead the classes. No registration is required. For more information, call Nash at 907-474-6366.
