Funding for sustainable ideas at UAF

February 20, 2018

University Relations

The UAF Office of Sustainability and the RISE Board are accepting proposals for funding this semester. Any UAF student or employee who has an idea that would overall make UAF more sustainable may apply. Past proposals have included solar panels on the Student Recreation Center, LED lighting upgrades on campus and a recycled art show. Many students and other UAF affiliates have made UAF a more efficient, greener place of education through the RISE funding process, and the experience is a positive addition to any resume.

We are currently accepting proposals to cmkemper@alaska.edu until Feb. 28, 2018. While priority is given to projects that focus on energy efficiency and renewable energy, projects may also address a variety of issues, including transportation, waste management, sustainable design,  education and curriculum, food systems, social sustainability, and green processes. If you have any ideas or follow-up questions about the proposal process, please call the Office of Sustainability at 474-5070 or email Christi Kemper at cmkemper@alaska.edu. The Office of Sustainability is willing to help applicants with any research, connections or information they might need to formulate sustainable ideas for UAF. Proposal guidelines and a template can be found at www.uaf.edu/sustainability/.
