Keith Champagne, vice chancellor for student affairs, has been awarded the Bobby Cummings Lifetime Achievement Award in diversity for his lifelong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. The award was presented by Central Washington University, where Champagne served before joining UAF.

The award recognizes the commitment and actions that an individual takes to address the needs of students, faculty and staff who are Black, Indigenous and people of color. While at CWU, Champagne helped develop a variety of programs and initiatives that involved students, alumni and faculty in a range of fields, such as business and theater.
