Lectures offer insight on the octopus, ethnobotany

The University of Alaska Fairbanks is hosting free Alaska-themed lectures throughout the summer, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in Schaible Auditorium on the UAF campus.

On Tuesday, Aug. 2, Reid Brewer will offer the Land and Sea Lecture, “Pacific Octopus: The Eight-Legged Wonder of the World.”

On Wednesday, Aug. 3, Amy Breen and Rose Meier will give the Discover Alaska Lecture, “Ethnobotany: Traditional Uses and Knowledge of Native Plants.”
