Retired University of Alaska Fairbanks registrar and alumna Ann Tremarello will be honored during the 2016 UAF Legacy Lecture at 7 p.m. June 6 at the Murie Building Auditorium at the Fairbanks campus. The evening will feature a conversation with Tremarello and a documentary film of her life.

Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning hosts the annual Legacy Lecture the first Monday in June, honoring a UAF alumnus who has made significant contributions to his or her community following graduation. The free event is sponsored in part by the UAF Alumni Association.

Tremarello retired as registrar in 2002 after nearly 50 years with the university. During her tenure, she worked to make things better for students and saw the campus grow from fewer than 400 to nearly 9,000 students.

Past alumni honored have been Grace Schaible, Neil Davis, Joe Usibelli Sr., Willie Hensley, Vera Alexander, Helen Atkinson and Patrick O’Neill. For more information about Summer Sessions programs, courses and events, visit www.uaf.edu/summer or call 474-7021.
