Magical Mondays series begins June 13

Magical Mondays, a free summer series of hands-on learning adventures for kids and families, will begin June 13 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

The series will be held at 7 p.m. on Mondays at the Murie Building auditorium and atrium at UAF. Topics will include dance, art and natural science. These programs are made possible through support from the UA College Savings Program, UAF Cooperative Extension Service and KUAC.

The summer schedule includes:

June 13 — “The Magic of Music and Dance,” by Lynn and Charley Basham
June 20 — “Yup-ik in a flash!” by Walkie Charles
June 27 — “Let’s draw!” by Jamie Smith
July 11 — “Archaeology in Alaska,” by Scott Shirar
July 18 — “Alaska mammals: Wolves and bears and marmots! Oh my!” by Aren Gunderson
July 25 — “Let’s do origami,” by Zoe Jones
Aug. 1 — “What can you do with a birch tree?” by Jan Dawe
Aug. 8 — “Real time portrait painting,” by Todd Sherman
