Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run to start at UAF

The 2008 Alaska Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Alaska will take place simultaneously in 17 communities across the state at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008. Law enforcement officers will lead the 5-kilometer fun run.
The Fairbanks run is scheduled to start at the University Police Department, 612 Yukon Drive, on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. Participant check-in is at 9:30 a.m.
The 2008 Torch Run continues a successful corporate-crimefighter-citizen partnership to benefit Special Olympics Alaska. Corporate support for Alaska's effort will come from Torch Run sponsor Wells Fargo. Additional local support was derived from a donation by the Farthest North Chapter of the Alaska Peace Officers' Association.
