Michael Feldman's popular public radio quiz show "Whad'ya Know?" will return to the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. for a live broadcast from the Davis Concert Hall.

The show played to a sold-out crowd in Fairbanks in 2006 and will return with the same off-the-cuff interviews, humorous monologues, quiz games and hotline call-in. The live broadcast will air throughout the state on public radio stations. The show will also air nationwide Saturday morning during regularly scheduled time slots.

Joining Feldman are his crewmembers, including announcer Jim Packard and the Whad'Ya Know Jazz Trio--John Thulin (piano), Jeff Hammann (bass) and Clyde Stubblefield (trap set)--as well as other Whad'Ya Know colleagues. Fairbanks celebrities, yet to be announced, will also appear on the show.

Feldman, a former English teacher and cab driver, started the show with Wisconsin Public Radio in 1985. It now airs coast to coast on nearly 300 public radio stations and has an audience of more than 1 million listeners. Its popularity has extended to the printed word with such books as "Whad'Ya Know" (1991), "Whad'Ya Knowledge" (1993) and "Something I Said? Innuendo and Out the Other" (2004).

Advance tickets are still available--$30 for adults and $28 for students, military and seniors--from The Artworks, New Horizons and UAF Wood Center (cash and check only). Tickets are also available via credit card through the UAF Summer Sessions office by calling 907-474-7021 or toll-free 866-404-7021. Tickets at the door are $35. The event is presented by UAF Summer Sessions, Fairbanks Convention & Visitors Bureau, Rivers Edge Resort, University of Alaska, University Advancement at UAF and Wisconsin Public Radio.
