A distance-delivered series that helps individuals manage their diabetes begins July 21.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will offer the free six-part workshop by Zoom Tuesdays from 6-8:30 p.m., through Aug. 25.

The Stanford University Patient Education Research Center developed the program. It helps individuals learn how to manage blood sugar levels, communicate effectively with health care professionals, prevent complications, read nutrition labels, exercise safely and plan meals.
