Sandra Boatwright won the 2018 Chancellor's Cornerstone Award. Boatwright received the surprise recognition during the longevity awards presentation as part of Staff Recognition and Development Day earlier this month.

Boatwright is the proposals and publications manager with the Institute of Northern Engineering. Chancellor Daniel M. White presented the award, and said he'd known Boatwright for many years during his longtime affiliation with the College of Engineering and Mines, including his role as director of INE.

Boatwright was praised by her colleagues for her professionalism and dedication to excellence. One supporter wrote in a nomination letter that Boatwright was the reason the writer joined INE. Another described her and her team as "office ninjas."

The annual Chancellor's Cornerstone Award is given to staff members who exhibit exceptional professional and interpersonal skills. The nomination period is open in February and March. For more information about the award, visit www.uaf.edu/chancellor/awards/.
