The Skiathon, a 20-kilometer cross-country ski race and tour around the University of Alaska Fairbanks trails, will start at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 20.

Skiers use the classic technique on set tracks. Finishers receive a Skiathon patch.

The event, a fundraiser for the university trail system, is cosponsored by the University Trails Club and the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks. The cost is $15 for those registering by noon Saturday, March 19. Same-day registration is $40. Additional donations, made to the University Trails Club, are appreciated.

Skiers can pick up and drop off registration forms at Beaver Sports, Raven Cross Country, Goldstream Sports and UAF Outdoor Adventures in the west end of the Student Recreation Center. Forms can also be downloaded here and mailed to the address provided. An injury claim waiver form for each skier must also be signed and enclosed.
