University Relations

The Campus Community Emergency Reaction Team is looking for staff members who want to be better prepared for a disaster or emergency. C-CERT is a team of volunteer staff or faculty members who are trained to augment fire, police and emergency services personnel in the event of a large-scale disaster such as an earthquake or fire. Training includes light search and rescue, basic first aid and basic extrication.

The next course is Tuesday, April 19 and 26 (full days) and April 27 (part day), and includes a mock scenario and practice in a half-day exercise. The course is free and lunch is provided the first two days.

Please contact Syrilyn Tong at satong@alaska.edu if you are interested in attending this course or would like to set up an alternate date during the summer months.
