TRIO Day celebrated today

UAF will celebrate TRIO Day on Thursday, Feb. 20, from noon-2 p.m. in the Wood Center
multilevel lounge. The event will feature addresses by UAF instructor Denise Kind
and student DJ Djogbessi. Registrar Mike Earnest will be honored with the TRIO Champion
Award for his support of limited-income and first-generation students, as well as
students who experience a disability. In addition, emergency room nurse Portia Collette,
will receive the 2020 TRIO Achiever Award for being an outstanding alumna.TRIO Day is named for the federal program that provides funding. The event is hosted by UAF's Student Support Services and Upward Bound programs.
