Book Club at the Pub is back for 2020! This spring semester, the University of Alaska Press is hosting a book club at the UAF Pub on Monday nights (note the change) at 7 p.m. Members of the public as well as UAF students, staff and faculty are welcome, though you must be 21 or older to enter the Pub.

You can sign up online ahead of time, or just join the group at The Pub. Readers who don't have an alaska.edu email account can email Nate Bauer at nate.bauer@alaska.edu.

In honor of the living civics lesson that will be 2020, the book club will begin discussing Jill Lepore's "These Truths: A History of the United States" beginning Monday, Jan. 27. It's a big book, figuratively and literally, so the club will take the whole semester to read it. Here's the discussion schedule (subject to change):

Jan. 27: Introduction / Chapter 1

Feb. 3: Chapters 2 / 3

Feb. 10: Chapter 4

Feb. 17: Chapters 5 / 6

Feb. 24: Chapters 7 / 8

March 2: Chapter 9

March 16: Chapter 10

March 23: Chapter 11

March 30: Chapter 12

April 6: Chapter 13

April 13: Chapter 14

April 20: Chapter 15
