Location: UAF campus, Fairbanks venues
The University of Alaska Fairbanks, in partnership with the UAF Alumni Association, will host its centennial reunion weekend on July 20-23.
Nanook Rendezvous is open to all UAF alumni, family and friends, with participants expected to travel from as far away as Florida and Massachusetts for this year’s event.
Festivities will begin on July 20 with a picnic at the Georgeson Botanical Garden, followed by a concert by the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival Celtic Ensemble.
Friday activities will include rock climbing, campus tours, rededication of the UAF engineer’s stone and dinner at the Alaska Salmon Bake.
On Saturday, UAF is seeking 100 alumni to walk in the Golden Days parade in recognition of UAF’s centennial. A riverboat tour and Goldpanners baseball game will follow. The events will conclude on Sunday with a brunch and various reunion activities.
Alumni who participate in four of the weekend’s featured events will be entered in a drawing to win a round-trip ticket on Alaska Airlines. The drawing will take place at the Alaska Goldpanners game on July 22.
Space is limited for some reunion events, and reservations are requested by July 19. More details and registration information are available at www.uaf.edu/alumni/reunion, 907-474-7081 or 844-474-6706.
