How much money is UAF losing by not having vending machines on campus right now? They seem very popular and right now we can probably use all of the money we can get.
From Pamm Zierfuss-Hubbard, contracts manager of Auxiliary, Recharge and Contract Operations
Sales for the summer months (July and August combined) are approximately half of sales for each month of the academic year therefore the loss is minimal. During the spring semester, the university released a bid for vending services and as a result, a new vendor was selected. The campus population during the summer months is significantly lower than it is during the academic year therefore it’s the best time to do scheduled maintenance and changing of vendors. Our new vendor is working diligently to ensure that vending machines are back in place by the time the fall semester begins.
