Workshop will explore community healing and wellness

 A workshop will review current work to address intergenerational trauma and associated social outcomes through integration of indigenous knowledge and cultural practices from 3-5 p.m. Monday, May 8, in Schaible Auditorium.


The event is part of the Week of the Arctic, May 8-12, at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.


Evon Peter, UAF vice chancellor for rural, community and Native education, will facilitate the workshop. Participants will include:






  • Stacy Rasmus, research associate professor, UAF Institute of Arctic Biology, Center for Alaska Native Health Research

  • Roberto Delgado, scientific program manager, Office for Research on Disparities and Global Mental Health, National Institute of Mental Health

  • Roberta Moto,  wellness program manager, Maniilaq Association

  • Billy Charles, research professional, UAF Center for Alaska Native Health Research, community member of Emmonak, Alaska
